At Bound by Heritage, every product is made to order using premium print-on-demand production. Because each item is created specifically for you, we handle returns slightly differently from traditional retail, while still complying with UK and EU (for Irish customers) consumer law.
Bound by Heritage is the trading name of Tiarnan O'Neill, a sole trader based in Northern Ireland.
1. Return Window (UK & Ireland Customers)
If you are a consumer (not buying as a business), you have:

14 days from the date you receive your order to request a return or cancellation under your cooling-off rights (where applicable).

A 30-day support window from the date of delivery for faulty or defective items.
This 14-day cooling-off period applies to customers in:

The United Kingdom, in line with UK Consumer Contracts Regulations

The Republic of Ireland, in line with EU consumer law
2. Eligibility for Returns
We accept returns in the following cases:

To be eligible for a return, items must be:

Unworn, unused, and unwashed

In the same condition as when you received them

In original packaging where possible

Accompanied by proof of purchase (order confirmation or receipt)
Because our items are printed to order, change-of-mind returns are not accepted except where required by law (for example, within the 14-day cooling-off period and with the item unused and in original condition).

4. Return Shipping Costs

If you are returning an item because it is faulty, damaged, misprinted or incorrect, we will either:

Provide a free replacement, or

Refund reasonable return postage costs where a physical return is required.

If you are returning an item under your 14-day cooling-off rights (change of mind), you are responsible for the cost of return postage from your location (UK or Republic of Ireland), unless otherwise required by law.
We will confirm whether a return is needed and what to do next when you contact us.
5. Replace Instead of Return (Print-on-Demand)
Because our products are made using a print-on-demand process, we may be able to offer a free replacement without requiring the original item to be returned, for example in cases of:

Faulty or defective items

Misprints or major print placement errors

Incorrect items received
Whether a return is required will depend on our production partner’s policies and the nature of the issue.
6. Exchanges (UK & Ireland)
If you need a different size, we may offer an exchange depending on availability.
In most cases:

If a return is required, you send the original item back once approved.

Once approved, you can place a new order for the desired size.
We’ll advise the best approach for your specific order when you contact us.
7. Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your returned item (if a return is required), we will notify you of the outcome.
If your refund is approved:

Refunds are issued to your original payment method only.

Processing may take up to 10 business days.

Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the refund to your account.

8. Customers in the Republic of Ireland
If you are located in the Republic of Ireland, you benefit from your rights under EU consumer law, including:

A 14-day cooling-off period for most online purchases, allowing you to cancel for any reason within 14 days of receiving your order, provided the item is unused and in its original condition (subject to legal exclusions such as certain customised items).
